Biography

After my undergraduate degree in Geography and a minor in Geographic Information Systems and Technology from Texas A&M University, I worked for an environmental consulting company and a midstream oil and gas company. After realizing my career options were limited in Geographic Information Systems and Technology, I decided to work for my dad at the family business. It is a small welding supply company with offices and warehouses in Houston and Corpus Christi. The business was aging and in need of help, and I was excited to improve the business in as many ways as possible. I restructured the warehouse, optimized inventory control, and ran production meetings to ensure that orders and deliveries for the day were being taken care of. Working in the business I learned invaluable information about what it takes to run your own business and was exposed to all areas that keep the business operational. While I learned a lot, this industry was not something I could see myself doing for the remainder of my career. I decided to pursue my MBA and MS Analytics at Texas A&M University to open myself up to many potential opportunities and career paths. Specifically, I am interested in product management. I believe there are many parallels between running a business and product management. Both require identifying customer needs and creating solutions to meet those needs. I also had to design a vision for the business and prioritize services and goods that we offered. The unique experiences I have in my career and from Texas A&M University would make me a valuable asset to your team.
