Tell me about yourself

I am an international business and finance graduate, former student athlete, world traveler and current JD/MBA candidate from Texas A&M. I have experience/ and continued interest in Procurement as a former member of MetLife’s global procurement team in which I lead initiatives for supplier sustainability, vendor consolidation, and savings governance. Most notably, I developed a project management tracking tool, still being used by the company today, to report procurement projects more effectively, which account for over 20 million dollars in generated savings.
However, throughout my life I have always enjoyed negotiation and deal making of any kind, whether it is buying a car or negotiating a fair taxi rate in a foreign country. I believe that when you connect with others by finding common ground or speaking their language you are more effective in closing deals. This awareness has followed me throughout my professional development by challenging me to learn new languages such as Spanish from living with local host families in Latin America for 8 months, but also by understanding the intricacies of law and business that negotiation encompasses, as a JD/MBA candidate. I am leveraging my unique cultural awareness, interpersonal skills, and expertise of legal concepts and business strategies to build lasting relationship with suppliers/clients, by recognizing innovative ways to best align company goals with supplier satisfaction, within the deals I structure.
As a previous college athlete, competition, execution, and teamwork are at the core of my DNA. My nature for performance allows me to keep challenging what defines success in my role and setting new bars for myself, whether that is looking for opportunities to lower cost or structure strategic deals that allow for long term company growth. Additionally, my interpersonal and collaborative skills are the foundations for what has allowed me to be impactful when communicating across team’s and cultures, and it is what will lead to my success establishing meaningful relationship with new and existing suppliers. Thank you for your consideration.
